Full biography 

Whitfield Frederick Hayward—universally known by his boyhood nickname of “Chummy”—was a founding father of Bermuda’s Olympic movement and philanthropist who supported a wide range of sporting and community causes.

1936: Bermuda’s first Olympic team

1948: Off to London

1968: Last march in Mexico City

Chummy Hayward leads the Bermuda Olympic team at the Opening Ceremony for the last time as flag bearer, in Mexico City in 1968.
